Your Optometrist, Dr. Catherine Kristynik
A native of Brenham, Texas, Dr. Catherine Kristynik is a second-generation optometrist who received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Kristynik earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree with Magna Cum Laude honors from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2017. During her optometric education, Dr. Kristynik completed externships at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (San Antonio, TX) and Cedar Springs Eye Clinic (Dallas, TX). She trained with cataract, vitreoretinal, corneal, oculoplastic surgeons, as well as glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, and diabetic specialists.
Dr. Kristynik is a therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist who has special interests in primary vision care, specialty contact lens fittings, problem-focused eye exams, pediatric eye care, and pre- and post-operative care. She has a strong passion for providing personable, thorough, and educative care to all of her patients. Her favorite part about being an optometrist is getting to know patients and the daily challenge of compiling an individualized treatment plan for each patient, especially lifestyle prescribing with corrective lenses.
Dr. Kristynik is a member of the Harris County Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, Ocular Nutrition Society, American Optometric Association and American Academy of Optometry.
When Dr. Kristynik isn’t at Blinc, she treasures moments with her husband Stan and daughter Gwenevere. Her passions extend beyond eye care to include reading, pickleball, and whipping up culinary delights in the kitchen.
Your Optometrist, Dr. Kendra Szeto
Dr. Kendra Szeto is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist. Dr. Szeto was born and raised in Hong Kong and has lived and studied in the United States since 2008. She attended Texas A&M University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then attended the University of Houston College Optometry and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors. During her optometric education, Dr. Szeto completed externships at the Veteran Affairs Richmond Outpatient Clinic and UHCO Eye Center in the Heights, where she received extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular conditions.
Dr. Szeto has special interests in primary vision care, contact lens fittings, pediatric vision care, and refractive and cataract surgery co-management. She also has experience in the diagnosis and management of corneal and retinal eye diseases, including dry eyes, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. Dr. Szeto has a passion for providing high quality, comprehensive eye care to all of her patients and helping them understand the importance of eye health.
Dr. Szeto is a proud member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Szeto enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, traveling, and drawing.
