Your Optometrist, Dr. Catherine Kristynik
A native of Brenham, Texas, Dr. Catherine Kristynik is a second-generation optometrist who received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Kristynik earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree with Magna Cum Laude honors from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2017. During her optometric education, Dr. Kristynik completed externships at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (San Antonio, TX) and Cedar Springs Eye Clinic (Dallas, TX). She trained with cataract, vitreoretinal, corneal, oculoplastic surgeons, as well as glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, and diabetic specialists.
Dr. Kristynik is a therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist who has special interests in primary vision care, specialty contact lens fittings, problem-focused eye exams, pediatric eye care, and pre- and post-operative care. She has a strong passion for providing personable, thorough, and educative care to all of her patients. Her favorite part about being an optometrist is getting to know patients and the daily challenge of compiling an individualized treatment plan for each patient, especially lifestyle prescribing with corrective lenses.
Dr. Kristynik is a member of the Harris County Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, Ocular Nutrition Society, American Optometric Association and American Academy of Optometry.
When Dr. Kristynik isn’t at Blinc, she treasures moments with her husband Stan and daughter Gwenevere. Her passions extend beyond eye care to include reading, pickleball, and whipping up culinary delights in the kitchen.
Your Optometrist, Dr. Watson
Dr. Jessica Watson was raised in Conroe, Texas, where her passion for optometry was sparked at the age of 13 after receiving her first pair of soft contact lenses!
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Medical Humanities with a minor in Biology from Baylor University, then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Watson is certified by the Texas Optometry Board as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist. Her clinical training included externships at Northside Eye Care Center in Fort Worth and Oakhill Eye Care in Austin, where she gained extensive experience in ocular disease management, glaucoma, pediatrics, post-operative care, dry eye treatment, and contact lenses.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Watson enjoys reading, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and standard poodle. She is excited to return to her hometown and looks forward to providing compassionate, personalized care while helping patients maintain and improve their vision for years to come.
Jamie – CPO/ABO Certified
Manager
Jamie has been an integral part of the Blinc Eye Care team since 2021, bringing with her over five years of experience in the optometry field. Double licensed as both a CPO and ABO, Jamie’s expertise is vast, and she wears many hats within our office. While she excels in all areas, her true passion lies in opticianry. Jamie’s dedication to providing the best possible service is reflected in her commitment to building a team that ensures every patient feels heard, valued, and supported throughout their visit.
In addition to managing the office, you’ll often find Jamie in our lab, cutting custom orders and working closely with our labs to ensure that all products arrive on time and meet our high standards. She also keeps herself up-to-date with the latest lens technology to make sure Blinc offers the most current and best lens options available.
Jamie initially started with us as an optician, and her warm hospitality, expert knowledge, and genuine care for the community have made her a favorite among our patients. She has a unique ability to make each person feel special, and her commitment to their eye health and satisfaction is unmatched.
Outside of work, Jamie stays busy with family. You can usually find her cheering on her son at Montgomery High School’s ball fields or spending time in the barn with her daughter and their FFA goat, Cheeze It. Jamie and her husband also enjoy unwinding with a friendly game of darts for a fun night out. With her combination of expertise, dedication, and heart, Jamie plays an essential role in the success and spirit of Blinc Eye Care.
Britney
Insurance Specialist
Britney joined our team in May 2023, bringing with her two years of experience working at one of the largest vision insurances, VSP. One of Britney’s best qualities is her infectious smile, and a passion for people. You can tell how much Britney loves her job and our patients from the moment she answers the phone or welcomes you in for your appointment. She carries out Blinc’s motto of “Sight Meets Service.” With her background in insurance, it makes it a breeze for her to answer any insurance questions you have prior to your appointment.
When Britney is not at Blinc, you can find her and her fiancé Aaron cheering on their kids, Hunter on
the baseball fields, and Braelynn at cheer.
Although there is not much time out of that, she loves to hang out with friends BBQing and playing games.
Ryleigh
Lead Optometric Technician
Ryleigh has been a vital part of our team for the past year and serves as our dedicated Contact Lens Specialist. As the liaison between our doctors and contact lens patients, she brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for helping patients find the perfect fit. Ryleigh is driven to provide custom, lifestyle-focused contact lenses that seamlessly integrate into each patient’s daily life, ensuring their comfort and vision needs are met.
She has a special place in her heart for working with children, particularly those receiving Myopia Control treatment. Her genuine love for connecting with her young patients shines through in every interaction. With her bubbly personality and warm presence, Ryleigh is the kind of person you can’t help but want to talk to all day. Her authenticity and care make every patient feel like they’re the most important person on her schedule.
Outside of work, Ryleigh enjoys staying active at the gym and loves a fun night out on the town. Whether she’s focusing on helping patients or enjoying her free time, Ryleigh brings energy, enthusiasm, and a caring touch to everything she does.
